Dr. Dorfman conducts neuropsychological assessments with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of neurological and developmental disorders.  Her areas of expertise are: complex learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, autism spectrum disorders, epilepsy, and cognitive effects related to cancer treatment. 

Assessment Process

Comprehensive neuropsychological testing is typically done over multiple sessions. Areas evaluated are: cognition, memory and learning, attention, executive functioning, language, visual spatial processing, sensorimotor skills, and  emotional functioning.  A flexible approach is utilized and the assessment battery and process are tailored toward each patient's individual needs. Following completion of the evaluation, a feedback session is held in which all of the results and recommendaitons are reviewed.  A detailed written report is then generated.  Dr. Dorfman also works closely with referring physicians and patients and their families to ensure that necessary  services and interventions are implemented.
